It is a fact that the Vests and Plate Holders in Guild Wars are by far the most important part of any PvP or PvE gear set. Vests and Plates are primarily used as body armour for the tanks, melee DPS, ranged DPS and filler gear pieces. You will notice that there are three types of armor in this game that can be categorized into tiers or ratings, Hard Armor, Soft Armor and Ferrite Armor. As you go through the game you will find out that every class has different set of Hard armor and soft armor to use. The main objectives of any player should have a complete set of each type for maximum protection and efficiency.
There are many things you should consider when purchasing armor. These include the price, durability, armor types, rarity and availability. The first thing to consider when investing in armor is the price, it is always better to pay slightly more than you think you need to but get a high amount of armor for the money. If you buy a common ballistic vest you should expect to make around 300 Reputation points. Although rare ballistic vests are more expensive, the amount of money you will spend to get it is much higher than the common ones so don’t take the extra money because it will be worthless. On the other hand, if you buy a rare item you can be sure that it will last you for a very long time and provide great protection from harm.
Other than the law enforcement officers, all other classes will want to have hard armor for their main gear sets. Police, Marksman, Riflemen, Cavalrymen, Marine Technicians,Medic, Civilians and PvP Players should have the following items: Hard Body Armors, Soft armor, Ferrite armor and Magnetic braces. For PvP players they should also have ballistic performance upgrades to improve the armor and magnetic braces to improve their tracking and accuracy.
